Technician - Sensor Electronics (w/m/d)

Berlin,

31.03.2025

Beschreibung:

Everest Carbon is a fast-growing climate technology startup specializing in innovative sensor technology for the commercialization of negative emissions. Our mission is to enable 1 billion tons of CO2 removed per year by 2035 through our products and services.

We’re looking for a hands-on technician to join our R&D team and help us iterate quickly on our electronics systems. You’ll assist with building, testing, and debugging our sensor hardware—focusing on electronics assembly, testing setups, and failure analysis. Your work will directly support field deployments, lab experiments, and new prototypes.

You will collaborate closely with the R&D team and report directly to our Embedded Engineering Lead.

Tasks

  • Assemble and test electronic sub-systems for sensor prototypes (e.g. microcontroller circuits, power management, analog signal chains).
  • Set up and run test benches (oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators, etc.) to support lab testing.
  • Support R&D engineers in debugging and validating sensor boards and embedded systems.
  • Organize and maintain our electronics workbench, tools, and inventory.
  • Soldering and rework (SMD and THT) of custom PCBs.
  • Prepare wiring, connectors, and sensor cabling for field devices.
  • Document build processes and test results in a structured, reproducible way.

Requirements

  • Technical training or degree (e.g., Elektrotechniker, Mechatroniker, or related field).
  • Hands-on experience assembling and testing electronics (especially low-power systems).
  • Comfortable reading circuit diagrams and following schematics.
  • Solid skills in soldering, wire prep, and cable management.
  • Familiarity with test instruments: multimeter, oscilloscope, lab power supply.
  • Attention to detail and structured work style.
  • Working proficiency in English (German a plus, but not required).

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with low-power embedded systems (e.g., STM32, LoRa, battery-powered designs).
  • Interest in climate tech, sensors, or environmental applications.
  • Familiarity with Altium, KiCad, or similar PCB tools.
  • Experience with environmental testing (e.g., water resistance, temperature stress).

Benefits

  • Build tech that directly helps fight climate change
  • Small, ambitious team with deep technical expertise
  • Flat hierarchy, fast decision cycles, real responsibility
  • Office and workshop space in Berlin with lab equipment and field prototyping tools
  • Competitive salary + equity package
